FCL UK was formed in the summer of 2003, as a gap in the deep sea shipping market was spotted by it’s founding Directors. They realized quickly that the forwarding industry was moving in the same direction as the Shipping Lines in terms of a quantity over quality ethos and that this was causing a disconnect within the forwarder/client relationship. In short, firms were sacrificing appropriate client care in pursuit of more volume, more business, and quite often without too much more expenditure on the resources required to maintain good client relationships.

Further to this, the sector which was suffering most by this neglect was the SME market where FCL is now the dominant logistics brand. We believe in helping startups and growing companies continue on an upward path, and we believe that it is only by investing our time and expertise into solving and providing solutions to their logistical requirements, that we will benefit from their growth as much as they will. This involves being over-resourced so that no job or request or query is too much for our caring and helpful staff.
